Job summary

PSEG, a major energy provider, is seeking an engineer to support the operation and maintenance of the Electric Transmission and Distribution System. The role involves supervising field forces and coordinating with customers and agencies, ensuring performance and reliability.

Candidates should have a STEM degree, 2+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to work on-call. A valid driver’s license and knowledge of electrical operations are essential; advanced certificates are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field related to the role.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of Electric Transmission and Delivery operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to read technical documents and/or schematics.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with clean record.
• On-call availability 24/7 for emergencies.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays as needed.
• Advanced degree, technical training, EIT or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise to operate and maintain system integrity.
• Supervise craft/engineering staff in a union environment.
• Represent management to customers and external stakeholders.
• Design, analyze, and maintain relevant infrastructure following standards.
• Support on-call duties during division/system emergencies.
• Adapt to possible location changes during storm restoration.
