Job summary

Graphcore is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical infrastructure for high-density AI data centers. You will guide architecture from power source to IT rack, ensuring safety, reliability and scalability. The role requires collaboration with utilities, partners and internal teams.

The position is based in Austin, Texas with ~10% travel and relocation eligibility. Deep knowledge of data center electrical systems, power electronics and NFPA/IEEE/IEC standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience required.
• Significant experience delivering mission-critical electrical infrastructure in high-availability environments.
• Ability to lead a major technical area and influence multi-disciplinary outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage AC systems and high-power DC distribution.
• Familiarity with NFPA, IEEE, IEC, UL, CSA standards and local electrical requirements.
• Experience with reliability engineering, FMEA/FMECA and safety concepts.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for electrical engineering across data center projects from power source to IT rack.
• Lead architecture development through all project stages including design, construction and commissioning.
• Develop electrical standards, specifications and acceptance criteria for power systems.
• Define protection, safety approaches and grounding for AC/DC systems.
• Evaluate and recommend power conversion and energy-storage technologies.
• Direct consultants and technology partners to meet project requirements.
