Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on power electronics.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering with emphasis on power conversion or energy storage products.
• Hands-on experience in high-voltage hardware design up to 1.5kVdc/480Vac.
• Experience with power semiconductor selection, gate drive design, and hardware protection circuits.
• Proficiency with circuit simulation and CAD tools (e.g., Simulink, LTspice, Altium Designer).
• Strong ability to lay out high-power, noise-sensitive PCBs and work with lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design high-voltage (800V-1.5kVdc, 480-800Vac) and high-power (10kW-200kW) converters for utility-scale BESS.
• Conduct topology comparisons and trade-off analyses focusing on efficiency, power density, cost, and manufacturability.
• Size power-stage components and select MOSFETs based on loss modeling and thermal management.
• Design robust gate driver circuits and power supplies for high-frequency switching.
• Lead the design of custom magnetic components (transformers/inductors) with Litz-wire or PCB-winding architectures.
• Architect LV sub-systems including auxiliary power, sensing, and protection circuits.
• Design and optimize EMI filters (differential/common-mode, X/Y caps, damping).
• Drive HV/HVPCBA layout with proper clearance/creepage and noise resilience.
