Redwood Materials is looking for a Staff BESS Electrical Design Engineer to join the EPC team in California. This role focuses on designing scalable energy storage systems and requires expertise in electrical engineering, particularly with lithium-ion battery applications.

Candidates should hold a relevant engineering degree and possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in energy storage design. The salary range is $190,000 to $252,500, based on experience.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in solar, energy storage, or microgrid sectors, with 3 years focused on BESS design.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Nevada or eligible for reciprocity.
• Proven expertise in NEC 705, NEC 706, IEEE 1547, UL 9540, NFPA 855.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering for utility scale lithium-ion BESS projects.
• Design AC and DC systems for BESS; develop schematic and wiring diagrams.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
