Job summary
PVF Finishing is part of Owen Industries, a veteran-friendly manufacturing leader in the steel sector, located in Carter Lake, IA. We are seeking a Lead Powder Coat Automation Technician to program and calibrate robotic coating systems, lead a paint line team, and drive continuous quality improvements while enjoying a 4-day work week and on-time early daily finish.
Includes a $3,000 hiring/retention bonus paid across the first year, with health and retirement benefits.
Qualifications
- Expert-level knowledge of powder coating processes including powder chemistry, electrostatic charging, and curing profiles.
- Ability to program and troubleshoot finishing robots and automated systems.
- Proven leadership experience leading teams and enforcing processes.
- Strong reading of technical manuals and blueprints to troubleshoot line issues.
Responsibilities
- Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot robotic powder coat application systems.
- Establish SOPs for line speed, powder flow, gun voltage, and oven cycles.
- Monitor quality checks and perform mil testing to ensure specs.
- Lead safety, training, and continuous improvement on the paint line.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and ensure ISO procedures are followed.
