Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Postdoctoral Appointee to advance next-generation RF phononic devices at the intersection of magnetism, spintronics, and piezoelectric acoustic wave physics. You will design and model devices, perform fabrication oversight, and develop experimental studies with a multidisciplinary team of physicists, materials scientists, and engineers.

The role emphasizes leading research efforts, publishing results, and collaborating across disciplines while working onsite

Qualifications

  • PhD, conferred within 5 years prior to employment in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Design radio frequency magnetic spin wave and phononic devices and perform/oversee related fabrication.
  • Develop and execute experiments to study magnetic spin waves and phonon-magnon physics in advanced materials and devices.
  • Characterize and qualify devices for integration into radio frequency microsystems.
  • Communicate research results through publications and conferences.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including experimentalists and theorists.
