Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico invites applications for a Postdoctoral Appointee specializing in Integrated Photonics. This onsite position focuses on silicon photonics for quantum, RF, and data communications within the National Security Photonics Center.

The successful candidate will conduct ground-breaking research, collaborate with Sandia researchers and external partners, publish in top journals, and contribute to patentable technologies while working in a world-class facility.

Qualifications

PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Optical Science, or related STEM field conferred within five years prior to employment.
Experience performing original research with publications and conference papers.
Experience in nonlinear optics and experimental characterization.
Experience using simulation software such as COMSOL, Matlab/Simulink, FDTD codes.

Responsabilités

Perform ground-breaking research in integrated photonic platforms and heterogeneous integration for classical and quantum applications.
Implement concepts in device design, measurement, fabrication, and packaging.
Collaborate with Sandia researchers and external academia, industry, and government partners.
Publish results in top-tier journals and conferences.
