Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a field technician to oversee the operation and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers. You will inspect, test, and service extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings, ensure code compliance, and document detailed inspection reports.

The role requires leadership ability, teamwork, and the flexibility to travel or work evenings/weekends as needed. A clean driving record and NFPA familiarity are preferred, with a competitive compensation package

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NFPA standards is preferred.
• Experience with fire extinguishers is preferred.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team or independently.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from office or job site.
• Flexible scheduling requiring evenings, weekends, and/or out-of-town assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity to manage teams or groups on projects.
• Install or service fire extinguishers in commercial and residential buildings.
• Test and repair extinguishers in place.
• Perform inspections to ensure installation according to code.
• Complete detailed inspection reports with issues.
• Report results of work accurately and timely.
• Maintain company equipment and vehicle.
• Travel as needed and respond to emergency service calls.
• Maintain a safe workspace and follow safety procedures.
