Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Hampton, VA seeks a Board Certified Physiatrist (PMR) to lead the Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders Service at the Hampton VAMC. The physician will diagnose and treat the full spectrum of SCI conditions, provide consultative care, and oversee clinical operations.

Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role includes responsibilities for education of residents, fellows and staff, with a focus on quality care for SCI Veterans and

Qualifications

• Full, unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with SCI subspecialty.
• Residency in PMR approved by ABPMR/AOA.
• Experience in SCI education or research is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as administrative and clinical lead for the Spinal Cord Injury service at Hampton VAMC.
• Provide PMR evaluations and SCI care across the spectrum of conditions.
• Cover direct clinical care for SCI Veterans.
• Educate Veterans, families, and medical trainees; collaborate with staff and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with facility and VISN policies and procedures.
