Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Lead Product Manager in Austin, TX to own the foundation model pillar of the Risk Decisioning Platform. You will define training/retraining strategies for transformer-based models handling transaction data and behavioral sequences, manage contracts between foundation outputs and downstream consumers, and oversee cascading impact when the foundation layer changes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Owning or co-owning a foundation model, large-scale embedding model, or transformer-based model platform in a production environment
• Experience with model governance in regulated environments
• Experience with data and feature engineering pipelines

Responsibilities

• Uses data to build insights on product or platform requirements consistent with the shared vision for the product.
• Gathers insights from the customer experience and customer needs to input to product requirements
• Analyzes research, market analysis and usability studies to support data-driven decision making
• Monitors product profitability measures, including budget.
• Lead sprint planning, daily standups and retrospectives to drive execution. Interfaces with product and technology leadership as needed.
• Partners with content developers, data scientists, product designers and user experience researchers to identify new opportunities.
