Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to lead design on new construction projects in the New York metropolitan area. You will coordinate with clients and project teams, develop designs through SD-DD-CD-CA, and manage documentation in a hybrid in-office/remote environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in plumbing/fire protection, strong Revit skills, and experience with multifamily, mixed-use, or retail developments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Plumbing and/or Fire Protection Engineering.
• Experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems for new construction projects.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Experience leading projects through SD, DD, CD, and CA phases.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, affordable housing, or retail projects preferred.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD.
• MEP building systems coordination knowledge.
• Interest in mentoring and professional development.
• Commitment to high-quality client service and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead plumbing and fire protection design for new construction projects from kickoff through completion.
• Develop designs through SD, DD, CD, and CA phases.
• Prepare and review construction documents for accuracy, code compliance, and constructability.
• Conduct site visits, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration activities.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage project schedules, deliverables, and documentation.
• Design and produce drawings using Revit and related design tools.
• Support team collaboration, mentorship, and exceptional client service.
