Job summary

The University of Southern California's Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) is seeking a Plumber Module C to join our team in Los Angeles. This role provides leadership to journeymen and zone maintenance technicians, performs standard plumbing procedures, and ensures safe, compliant work on complex piping systems.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, an apprenticeship or equivalent experience, and several years as a journeyman with knowledge of codes and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a four-year apprenticeship program; four years' experience as a trade-related trainee may substitute.
• Additional five years minimum experience as a journeyman.
• Experience performing standard trade-related procedures.
• General knowledge of trade-related methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Familiar with city and state building codes, OSHA rules and regulations, safety practices and equipment.
• Valid CA Driver’s License with minimum 2 years’ driving experience; DMV Pull Notice System; DMV record required.
• Must own designated hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and maintains plumbing systems and equipment per blueprints and diagrams.
• Plans, coordinates, schedules, and/or modifies plumbing installations.
• Trains journeymen and other staff in specific skills and tasks as needed.
• Maintains safe working conditions and clean job sites; ensures proper storage of supplies and tools.
• Provides leadership and guidance to others performing similar work; sets priorities and timelines.
• Prepares reports and maintenance records as needed.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
