Job summary

Noble Correctional Institution is seeking a Plumbing Supervisor to lead plumbers and trades workers, including inmates, in installing, repairing and maintaining plumbing systems across the facility.

The role requires experience in plumbing trades, maintenance tasks and the ability to read blueprints; duties include preventive maintenance, supervision, and coordination with other institutional teams.

Qualifications

• 18 mos. trg. or 18 mos. verifiable work exp. in plumbing under supervision of experienced plumber.
• Formal arithmetic education including fractions & percentages & reading & writing common English vocabulary.

Responsibilities

• Provides work direction and training to plumbers or trades workers and/or inmates engaged in plumbing work.
• Installs, modifies and repairs plumbing including unclogging commodes, sinks, sewage lines; replaces traps, valves and thermostats.
• Installs water, steam and gas lines and connects equipment in laundry, laboratory and kitchen areas.
• Maintains building facilities and equipment; checks pipes and fixtures for corrosion.
• Checks and lubricates pumps and valves; changes filters.
• Performs minor repairs on steam lines.
• Orders supplies and maintains job records and reports.
• Reads blueprints and prepares job estimates; conducts preventive maintenance programs.
