Job summary

Miami University Alumni Association is seeking a Master Trades Specialist (Plumber) to perform complex plumbing repairs and installations across university facilities. The role requires skilled-trade certification, blueprint interpretation, and the ability to coordinate material needs and drive projects to completion.

Qualifications

• Requires nine months training beyond high school in a skilled trade and three years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be a qualified driver under the Universities MVR policy.

Responsibilities

• Reviews job orders and blueprints or drawings; inspects site and consults with client; determines best method to complete project.
• Estimates amount of materials and equipment needed to complete project; prepares cost estimates; arranges for materials to be at job site.
• Performs complex repair or installation on University facilities and property using expertise acquired through specialized training in a skilled trade (plumbing).
• Serve as informational resource to other staff.
• Maintains and cleans tools and equipment; maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
• May serve as liaison to outside contractors and other departments; may prepare some paperwork; may maintain some files.
