Job summary

The Nevada Department of Corrections is seeking a Plumber 2 at High Desert State Prison. The incumbent will install water, waste, steam and gas lines, review blueprints, and design plumbing systems under supervision.

You will work with inmate workers in a correctional setting, following codes and safety procedures. Essential qualifications include completing a plumbing apprenticeship and one year of journey level experience, or equivalent experience, with ability to interpret blueprints and

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized plumbing apprenticeship program followed by one year of journey level plumbing experience.
• One year of experience as a Plumber I in Nevada State service or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret plumbing layouts.

Responsibilities

• Respond to repair orders; diagnose problems using tools and test equipment.
• Install water supply, waste, steam, and gas lines and fixtures per plumbing code.
• Maintain and repair backflow devices, pipes, pumps, and related components.
• Provide training and direction to maintenance staff and coordinate with contractors.
