Job summary

The Idaho Department of Correction is recruiting a full-time Plumbing Foreman at the South Boise Complex. The position requires a licensed journeyman plumber and will also serve as a level II Water Operator, supporting testing of wells and distribution systems.

Responsibilities include cost estimation, code compliance, system installation and repair, supervision of resident workers, budget management, and bid coordination. This is a hands-on role with night and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Licensed journeyman plumber per Idaho Code Title 54, Chapter 26.

Responsibilities

• Estimate costs and inspect piping systems in new and remodeled facilities.
• Advise engineers on code requirements and plans interpretation.
• Install and repair pipes, fixtures, fittings, valves, and related plumbing items; install sewer lines and drainage.
• Hire, train, and supervise resident workers.
• Maintain maintenance budget and cost projections; coordinate bids and contracts.
• Issue plumbing permits and coordinate department projects.
