Position Summary

The Lead, Platform Engineering — Gaming New Tech & Infrastructure owns the technical strategy, architecture, and platform health for Royal Caribbean Group’s casino and gaming technology — a $2B business ($2.5B+ by 2031) spanning slots, tables, arcade, bingo, cage / cashless, player tracking, and the Casino Operations Hub. This role bridges execution, architecture, and real‑time fleet alignment as the organization brings gaming technology in‑house — starting with internally built arcade readers — reducing vendor dependence and unlocking new revenue levers across a complex, multi‑vendor systems landscape. The Lead provides technical direction and decision authority across gaming systems, drives deployment and upgrade strategy, and coordinates cross‑org and external partners to sustain platform growth, security, and reliability.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Bridge product, architecture, and operations to sustain platform growth and real‑time fleet alignment.
  • Set the deployment, upgrade, and modernization strategy for gaming platforms.
Platform Strategy & Architecture
  • Own integration patterns and architecture across slots (Aristocrat), tables (Genesis / Bravo, table tracking), arcade (Intercard, Valsoft / CoreCashless), bingo, cage & cashless (CageXchange, CashClub), player tracking, and the Casino Operations Hub.
  • Standardize and modernize a multi‑vendor landscape into a reliable, integrated platform.
  • Ensure high availability and performance across the fleet, including concurrent Newbuild and Dry Dock deployments.
In‑House Capability & New Tech
  • Lead the shift to internally built capability — starting with internally built arcade readers and L&W table progressives — and evaluate build‑vs‑buy across the portfolio.
  • Drive net‑new products entering the gaming portfolio: Sports Betting ($120B market) and iGaming ($110B), plus eWallet and social gaming.
  • Reduce reliance on external vendors while protecting reliability and compliance.
Security, Stability & Real‑Time Integrations
  • Own security remediations, certifications, and stability across gaming systems.
  • Deliver complex, real‑time integrations — rewards, offers, and player‑tracking data across systems.
  • Maintain regulatory and compliance alignment across jurisdictions.
Cross‑Functional & Fleet Alignment
  • Partner with Casino Operations, Commercial, Compliance, and external vendors; serve as Newbuild and Dry Dock point of contact for gaming.
  • Coordinate cross‑org initiatives and align priorities across diverse teams and functions.
