Job summary

Burq, Inc. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to be the founding member of its Platform team, owning infrastructure, security, CI/CD, and reliability.

The role centers on building a scalable platform on AWS, driving a major infrastructure roadmap, and accelerating product teams across Burq. You will design and implement an end-to-end platform, from Terraform-driven infrastructure to secure IAM, CI/CD pipelines, and robust observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years focused on infrastructure and platform engineering.
• Deep AWS expertise — ECS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, Lambda, account architecture.
• Terraform proficiency — you write infrastructure as code and know why it matters.
• Strong CI/CD background — GitHub Actions, deployment pipelines, environment management.
• Security-minded — you know how to harden systems without creating friction for product engineers.
• Experience with observability tooling — CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the AWS account split into clean, isolated environments (prod/stage/dev).
• Lead Aurora DB production migration with support from infrastructure advisor.
• Manage and evolve ECS Fargate services, RDS clusters, ElastiCache, SQS, and ALB configuration.
• Own Terraform — infrastructure as code, not click-ops.
• Harden IAM, enforce least-privilege, audit public S3 buckets, and enable AWS Config/Security Hub.
• Own SOC 2 Type 2 readiness with Sprinto and coordinate external penetration tests.
• Own and improve GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines to improve build times, tests, and deployment velocity.
• Build PR stack environments and Docker Compose-based local development stacks.
