Job summary

Flexential Corp. is seeking a Principal Platform Engineer to plan roadmaps and establish requirements for secure, observable platform technologies. You will lead a small team and own technical planning, delivery timelines, and platform reliability.

Focus areas include OpenTelemetry observability, DevOps, ITSM integrations, and secure high-velocity SDLC across multiple development teams. The role sits at the interface of engineering management and hands-on work in a high-impact environment.

Qualifications

8+ years in DevOps/Platform Engineering with leadership experience.
End-to-end ownership of developer/infrastructure platforms and Kubernetes stack.
Expertise with GitLab CI/CD, IaC, and automation frameworks.
Strong automation with Python and IaC tooling (Terraform/Ansible).

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, deployment and operation of automated platforms with high availability and security.
Build and manage Platform Engineering team, roadmap ownership and mentoring.
Plan and operate OpenTelemetry Observability stack (Grafana, Mimir, Loki, Tempo, Prometheus) on Kubernetes.
Develop IaC and CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, Helm, ArgoCD).
Own security posture: CyberArk/Conjur, RBAC, mTLS, compliance boundaries.
