Job summary

State Farm is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer in Bloomington, IL to shape the enterprise developer platform and accelerate software delivery. You will design, build, and improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and standardized deployment processes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.

You will collaborate with security and engineering teams to embed quality checks and governance into pipelines, while mentoring engineers and advancing platform engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience designing, building, or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and automation, particularly AWS and Terraform.
• Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience developing reusable workflows, automation solutions, or infrastructure templates.
• Understanding of secure software delivery practices, including access management, automated testing, and security integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance enterprise CI/CD platforms that streamline software delivery across the development lifecycle.
• Create reusable pipelines, automated workflows, and self-service solutions for developers to build, test, and deploy applications.
• Improve developer experience by reducing manual processes, simplifying deployments, and increasing engineering efficiency.
• Build and optimize CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, and related automation technologies.
