Job summary

Cordia in Tempe, AZ, is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic responsible for day-to-day preventive maintenance and repair of power, steam, and chilled water facilities at ASU, with occasional support at downtown Phoenix plants. The role prioritizes Safety, Reliability and Efficiency.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of hands-on experience with cogeneration or central heating/cooling plants, and strong skills in maintenance planning, documentation, and contractor coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years' experience maintaining power, steam, and/or chilled water equipment.
• Hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting with cogeneration or central heating/cooling plants.
• Experience with contract management and coordinating contractors.
• EPA 609 universal refrigeration certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review operating and maintenance requirements for main and remote plants.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of plant equipment.
• Initiate CMMS work requests; plan and schedule with management.
• Interpret manuals, drawings, and data to develop maintenance plans.
• Identify opportunities to improve O&M processes and lead corrective actions.
• Complete logs, records, and plant paperwork.
• Coordinate LOTOs in RedTag with operations.
• Review bids and oversee contractors for maintenance services.
• Coordinate between contractors, consultants, and suppliers on projects.
• Plan and execute routine maintenance; support major projects.
• Ensure safety policies and environmental regulations are followed.
• Order parts and manage inventory.
• Perform other duties as needed (cleaning, etc.).
