Job summary

Briess Industries in Chilton, WI seeks a Plant & Facilities Electrical Project Engineer to lead electrical and automation capital projects across our Chilton and Manitowoc plants. You will direct, coordinate and execute initiatives to improve infrastructure, equipment, utilities and facilities, coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

The role requires 7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, and knowledge of Allen-Bradley/FactoryTalk/RS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Electrical Engineering field.
• 7–10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing engineering or capital improvement projects.
• Experience in food, beverage, ingredient, pharmaceutical, or process manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Allen-Bradley based control systems, FactoryTalk, and RS Logix.
• Experience with SCADA systems, process instrumentation, and industrial networking.
• Understanding of Siemens and Ignition are a plus, but not required.
• Knowledge of sanitary manufacturing environments and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical and automation capital projects from concept through commissioning.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders during project execution.
• Review electrical drawings, panel designs, and control narratives.
• Oversee equipment installations, start-ups, and commissioning activities.
• Support and improve plant automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
• Assist in developing, modifying, and troubleshooting control logic and process automation programs.
• Collaborate with operations personnel to optimize manufacturing processes through automation and control improvements.
• Ensure cybersecurity best practices are incorporated into industrial control systems.
• Support process data collection, reporting, and system integration initiatives.
• Adhere to all government and company safety, sanitation and GMP policies and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
