Ahlstrom in Wisconsin seeks an electrical engineering professional to provide design, project management, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for the Stevens Point Mill & Water Renewal Center. You will guide safety, compliance, and capital improvements across electrical/instrumentation systems.

The role emphasizes engineering services, cost estimates, drawings, and project execution from planning through completion, with training responsibilities for technicians and ongoing system updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Self-motivated, hands-on engineer.
• coop/intern experience in electrical engineering is desirable.
• Knowledge of PLCs, distributed control systems, drive systems and general principles of automations and computer interfacing.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety initiatives to ensure “safe from the start” practices and compliance with safety regulations.
• Lead NFPA 70E compliance efforts and participate in electrical safe work practice team.
• Provide electrical/instrumentation engineering services for capital projects and service requests; prepare project cost estimates and drawings.
• Execute capital projects using the CER process and develop detailed scope and cost estimates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve daily electrical/instrumentation problems; assist in maintenance issue resolution.
• Develop, implement, and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical/instrumentation.
• Conduct mill tours to identify electrical/instrumentation problems and ensure safe housekeeping.
• Ensure value for cost in electrical/instrumentation activities and train technicians on installation and startup.
