Job summary

Five years of government plan-review experience and strong knowledge of structural and building codes are expected; a California Engineer's License is desirable.

Qualifications
- Five years of plan review experience for government projects.
- Strong knowledge of California Building Code and related codes.
- CA Engineer's License is desirable but not required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and supervise all plan review activities for the Building Division.
- Coordinate plan checks for residential, commercial and industrial construction to ensure on-time reviews.
- Review calculations, test reports, and drawings for compliance with codes and standards.
- Assist contractors, architects, and engineers with interpretation of codes and ordinances.
- Develop and conduct training programs for Building Division personnel.
- Act as Building Official when assigned and support budget and policy decisions.
