Job description

Position Summary

Acuren is currently recruiting for a Lead Pipeline Integrity Technician to support our regional operations in Conroe, TX.

This role provides specialized expertise in pipeline integrity, responsible for offering technical, procedural, project, and resource recommendations to support technical service delivery. The technician reviews and adopts new technology, delivers equipment and technical training, validates competency levels, and ensures work standards are maintained. Additionally, the role involves project planning, technical review, and supporting business development and growth initiatives.

Responsibilities
  1. Calibrate nondestructive test equipment.
  2. Conduct tests to ensure quality and detect defects using NDT methods.
  3. Establish examination techniques, adhering to safety regulations.
  4. Apply testing criteria per standards and evaluate results.
  5. Organize and report test outcomes.
  6. Perform specialized inspections.
  7. Review pipeline integrity reports and assist technicians with reporting.
  8. Attend operational meetings with clients and project managers.
  9. Maintain communication with clients and technicians.
  10. Update databases and manage FTP sites.
  11. Track inspection priorities and ensure compliance with client specifications.
  12. Assist in technician training and cost estimating.
  13. Maintain metrics on reporting, costs, and productivity.
  14. Resolve technical issues in the field.
  15. Report investigation results.
  16. May supervise and instruct others.
  17. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
  1. Post-secondary degree in Engineering or a technical field preferred.
  2. Client experience (e.g., Enbridge) preferred.
  3. Level II PT, MT, and UT II Shear Wave with Advanced Sizing & Detection Techniques or higher.
  4. Knowledge of pipeline industry and integrity inspections required.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  8. Technical proficiency and attention to detail.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  10. Ability to manage large data sets.
  11. Experience in scientific and report writing.
  12. AutoCAD experience is a plus.
  13. Background in NDT methods and procedures.
  14. High school diploma or GED required.
