Petticoat-Schmitt Civil Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Pipelayer in Jacksonville, FL to lead trench installation on underground utility projects and mentor crew members. You will install storm, sanitary sewer, and water pipe, maintain grade, and use lasers for grade control to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pipelayer on an underground utility pipe crew.
• Experience installing large-diameter storm, sanitary sewer, and water systems.
• Strong understanding of trench safety, compaction, and underground utility installation.
• Ability to read grades and utilize lasers or grade sticks to maintain proper elevations.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead trench installation activities with the crew and Foreman.
• Install storm, sanitary sewer, and water pipe with proper grade and depth.
• Set up and operate lasers for grade control and verify installation accuracy.
• Maintain crew organization to keep projects on schedule.
• Mentor Hillmen and Tailmen and promote safety and quality.
