Job summary

IHG Mechanical is seeking a highly engaged Lead Pipe Insulator to lead field projects and supervise insulation crews on industrial piping tasks. The role involves traveling to diverse job sites, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to schedule.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in insulation, hands-on experience with polystyrene on cold-service systems, and the ability to read drawings. OSHA 30 or OSHA 10 with quick progression to OSHA 30 is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical insulation experience, including industrial or process piping.
• Experience leading a crew.
• Hands-on experience with polystyrene on cold-service systems.
• Experience with hot and cold service, including vapor barriers.
• OSHA 30 certification OR OSHA 10 with the ability to complete OSHA 30 within 90 days of hire (company paid).
• Ability to travel up to 100% as needed, with occasional overnight travel, shutdown work, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the insulation crew to ensure industrial and process piping activities are completed to high standards.
• Work with steam, process lines, chilled water, and refrigeration piping.
• Manage project tools and enforce safety compliance.
• Support efficient project completion by stepping in where needed.
