Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking an Instructor / Check Airman Pilot to lead training and ensure regulatory compliance for the pilot team in Murray, Utah. The role conducts evaluations, delivers flight and ground instruction, and mentors pilots to uphold safety and operational excellence.

Responsibilities include updating SOPs, maintaining records, supporting audits, and assisting with recruitment. Strong FAA credentials and multi-hour flight experience are required.

Qualifications

  • FAA certifications required: commercial or ATP with rotorcraft/airplane rating.
  • Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate or higher.
  • Instrument Rating – Helicopter.
  • Minimum flight experience: VFR/IFR 2000 hrs total; 100 hrs night; cross-country 100 hrs; IFR 75 hrs.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts pilot proficiency checks, evaluations, and IOE per FAA regs.
  • Delivers flight and ground instruction for initial, recurrent, and upgrade training.
  • Assesses pilot performance and provides feedback for skill improvement.
  • Develops training materials, lesson plans, and SOPs.
  • Collaborates with Chief Pilot to address training needs.
  • Mentors pilots and promotes professional growth.
  • Participates in safety programs and mitigates risks.
  • Maintains training records and regulatory documents.
  • Assists in recruitment and onboarding through evaluations and interviews.
  • Acts as SME during regulatory audits and inspections.
