Job summary

Alliance Clinical Network is building a new clinical research site in Pittsburgh and seeks an Internal Medicine/Family Medicine/Specialist physician (MD/DO) with clinical research experience to lead as Principal Investigator.

You will provide medical guidance, oversee trials, ensure participant safety, and collaborate with operations, sponsors, and IRBs while maintaining clinical engagement and a predictable schedule.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or a Specialist.
• Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license.
• Prior clinical research experience in PI, Sub-Investigator, or related capacity is required.
• Strong clinical judgment and commitment to participant safety.
• Interest in clinical research and advancing medical innovation.
• Familiarity with ICH-GCP and FDA clinical research regulations.
• Board certification and DEA registration if required by study protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight and leadership for assigned trials.
• Protect safety, rights, and well-being of participants.
• Review eligibility and monitor screening outcomes.
• Review adverse events and safety trends.
• Oversee medical assessments and endpoint assessments.
• Guide Sub-Investigators, CRAs, RNs, and site staff.
• Collaborate with sponsors, CROs, IRBs and Alliance leadership across trials.
• Participate in site visits, monitoring, close-out activities and study meetings.
• Review clinical data including labs, ECGs, vitals, and other assessments.
• Support timely safety reporting and medical documentation.
• Maintain compliance with protocols, SOPs, ICH-GCP and FDA regulations.
• Contribute to quality culture and patient-centered research.
