Job summary

ASML / HMI seeks a Principal Physics Algorithms Engineer to define and develop next-generation physics-based technologies for e-beam semiconductor inspection systems. As a senior technical leader, you will drive architecture, modeling, and deployment of advanced simulations spanning SEM image formation, e-beam interactions, voltage contrast, and related physics.

You will influence multiple engineering groups, partner with CV/ML teams to embed physics in AI-driven solutions, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, EE, Materials Science, Applied Math, CS, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in algorithms, simulation, or computational modeling.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and track record of delivering innovations to production.
• Experience guiding technical direction across multiple projects or teams.
• Semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of physics-based modeling and simulation technologies (SEM image formation, e-beam interactions, voltage contrast).
• Define architecture for simulation frameworks supporting future inspection algorithms.
• Partner with CV and ML teams to integrate physics-based methods with AI solutions.
• Drive research, prototyping, and technology development for future products.
• Translate complex physics into scalable, production-quality software.
• Influence roadmaps and decisions across engineering teams.
• Lead junior engineers and foster technical excellence.
