Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers is seeking a Lead Physical Therapist for inpatient/acute care in Aiken, South Carolina. The role involves evaluating patients, creating treatment plans, and coordinating discharge planning within a hospital setting.

The lead therapist will manage daily workflow, scheduling, productivity reports, and ensure high-quality care while supervising PTA staff as applicable. Requires a current SC Physical Therapy license and BLS certification, with 1 year of acute care

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate)
• SC Licensure as a Physical Therapist is required
• BLS certification current
• Minimum 1 year acute care experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Conducts evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans
• Implements treatment plans using PT methods, modalities, and procedures
• Delegates patient care to PTA when appropriate and supervises
• Educates patients and families throughout treatment
• Maintains documentation and coding for services
• Manages workload, productivity, and quality reporting for the unit
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure discharge planning and patient progress

Lead Physical Therapist – Inpatient/Acute Care

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Lead Physical Therapist is to provide Physical Therapy services (evaluation, treatment plan development, treatment, delegation of treatment, and discharge planning) to patients in the hospital setting in accordance with facility policy, standards, and philosophy. The lead PT is responsible for daily workflow, scheduling, productivity reports, case load management, quality reporting, and ordering of supplies.

Duties:

• Conducts evaluations, considering medical history, physician orders, patient capabilities/expectations, measurements and standardized assessments.
• Develops appropriate treatment plan consistent with assessment, diagnostic outcomes, while incorporating patient goals and focus on discharge planning.
• Implements treatment plan in accordance with methods, techniques, modalities, and procedures.
• Delegation of patient care to PTA, if applicable, following supervisory requirements.
• Appropriately provides patient and family education throughout treatment.
• Meets documentation standards with patient charts.
• Charge accurately, timely, and appropriately for services rendered.
• Displays excellent customer service skills.
• Positive and professional communication with interdisciplinary team members.
• Timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Assist other departments during staffing shortages.
• Coordinates the clinical activities on a designated shift, as appropriate.
• Manages productivity reports, case management load and quality reporting for the unit.
• Assist in interviewing and corrective actions with employees.Performs other duties as assigned
