Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers in Aiken, South Carolina, seeks a Lead Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive PT services in an inpatient/acute care setting. Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, direct patient care, delegation to PTA, discharge planning, and adherence to policy and quality standards.

The role requires current South Carolina PT license and active BLS, with preference for 1 year acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree from an accredited program of Physical Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate).
• Experience: Prefer 1 year in an acute setting but not required.
• License or Registration: Current SC License, active BLS.

Responsibilities

• Conducts evaluations and develops treatment plans focused on discharge planning.
• Implements treatment plans using appropriate methods, techniques and modalities.
• Delegates care to a PTA when applicable and supervises accordingly.
• Provides patient and family education throughout treatment.
• Maintains timely and accurate documentation and charts.
• Manages unit productivity, case load and quality reporting.
• Coordinates clinical activities on the designated shift and assists during staffing shortages.

Lead Physical Therapist – Inpatient/Acute Care

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Lead Physical Therapist is to provide Physical Therapy services (evaluation, treatment plan development, treatment, delegation of treatment, and discharge planning) to patients in the hospital setting in accordance with facility policy, standards, and philosophy. The lead PT is responsible for daily workflow, scheduling, productivity reports, case load management, quality reporting, and ordering of supplies.

Duties:

• Conducts evaluations, considering medical history, physician orders, patient capabilities/expectations, measurements and standardized assessments.
• Develops appropriate treatment plan consistent with assessment, diagnostic outcomes, while incorporating patient goals and focus on discharge planning.
• Implements treatment plan in accordance with methods, techniques, modalities, and procedures.
• Delegation of patient care to PTA, if applicable, following supervisory requirements.
• Appropriately provides patient and family education throughout treatment.
• Meets documentation standards with patient charts.
• Charge accurately, timely, and appropriately for services rendered.
• Displays excellent customer service skills.
• Positive and professional communication with interdisciplinary team members.
• Timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Assist other departments during staffing shortages.
• Coordinates the clinical activities on a designated shift, as appropriate.
• Manages productivity reports, case management load and quality reporting for the unit.
• Assist in interviewing and corrective actions with employees.Performs other duties as assigned
