Job summary

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, part of Universal Health Services, in Aiken, SC, seeks a Lead Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive PT services in the hospital setting, including evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning.

The lead PT will oversee daily workflow, scheduling, productivity reporting, case load management, and interdisciplinary collaboration, with delegation to PTAs as applicable to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current SC Physical Therapy license; active BLS.
• Preferred 1 year of experience in an acute hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT services including evaluation, treatment plan development, treatment, and discharge planning.
• Delegate tasks to PTAs when appropriate and supervise per policy.
• Maintain documentation standards and participate in discharge planning and family education.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team and manage unit productivity and quality reporting.

Lead Physical Therapist - Inpatient/Acute Care

Lead Physical Therapist is to provide Physical Therapy services (evaluation, treatment plan development, treatment, delegation of treatment, and discharge planning) to patients in the hospital setting in accordance with facility policy, standards, and philosophy. The lead PT is responsible for daily workflow, scheduling, productivity reports, case load management, quality reporting, and ordering of supplies.

Duties:

• Conducts evaluations, considering medical history, physician orders, patient capabilities/expectations, measurements and standardized assessments.
• Develops appropriate treatment plan consistent with assessment, diagnostic outcomes, while incorporating patient goals and focus on discharge planning.
• Implements treatment plan in accordance with methods, techniques, modalities, and procedures.
• Delegation of patient care to PTA, if applicable, following supervisory requirements.
• Appropriately provides patient and family education throughout treatment.
• Meets documentation standards with patient charts.
• Charge accurately, timely, and appropriately for services rendered.
• Displays excellent customer service skills.
• Positive and professional communication with interdisciplinary team members.
• Timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Assist other departments during staffing shortages.
• Coordinates the clinical activities on a designated shift, as appropriate.
• Manages productivity reports, case management load and quality reporting for the unit.
• Assist in interviewing and corrective actions with employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned
