Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is seeking a Lead Phlebotomy Technician to ensure inpatient and outpatient drawing areas run with a continuous workflow. You will draw blood, transport specimens, and interpret physician orders while leading the team and maintaining exceptional patient service.

Days are 9:30am–6:00pm. The role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on phlebotomy, training others and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across the laboratory sections.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Proficiency in infant and pediatric phlebotomy.
• Demonstrated leadership and training experience.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood from patients using venipuncture or capillary puncture.
• Transport specimens and interpret physician orders.
• In absence of Supervisor or Team Leader, serve as point person for problem resolution.
• Coordinate orientation and training schedules.
• Assist in training phlebotomy students and new employees.
• Maintain safety and attend to patients who faint or become ill.
• Ensure section compliance with accrediting and safety guidelines.
• Attend workshops and continuing education to stay current.
