Job summary

Uphams Corner Health Center in Dorchester, MA is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician to supervise a team, support the Pharmacy Director, and ensure efficient daily operations.

Position Type: Full Time (30+ hours)

Hours per week: 40

Salary Range: $24.03 - $33.65 per hour

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Supervisor: Pharmacy Director

Position Title: Lead Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Pharmacy Technicians and ensure operational activities run smoothly in the Pharmacy.
  • Provide administrative support to the Pharmacy Director and Pharmacist on duty.
  • Train all Pharmacy Technicians, Interns, and Drivers on Pharmacy software, EMR (UCC) system, IVR, pharmacy register, PARATA, and related tools/programs.
  • Support staff in training and learning duties of their positions.
  • Answer questions from Pharmacy Technicians, Interns, or Drivers and assist in performing more specialized procedures.
  • Schedule Pharmacy Technicians, Interns, and Drivers; arrange replacements for absences; manage shift changes.
  • Place daily medication and supply orders.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Director in preparing and organizing the Pharmacy for insurance audits.
  • Perform monthly 340B internal audits under the supervision of the Pharmacy Director and Compliance Director.
  • Perform other duties as required by the position or assigned by the Pharmacy Director.
  • Focus on patient and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Nationally certified as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • 1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience in retail or community health center pharmacy.
Experience & Skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of technician duties.
  • Previous pharmacy experience in a retail or FQHC pharmacy.
  • Compliance with company, local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to implement trainings created by the Pharmacy Director for Technicians, Interns, and Drivers.
  • Technical knowledge of pharmacy equipment, outpatient dispensing, clerical, and purchasing skills.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of transitions.
  • Ability to serve as a role model by demonstrating the organization’s values.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • English and Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole or Portuguese proficiency preferred.
