Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Lead Pharmacy Technician to oversee daily operations and guide a team of technicians in a fast-paced, high-volume pharmacy environment. The role balances hands-on duties with leadership, ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and regulatory compliance across the workflow.

The position is onsite in Fairfield, OH, contract-to-hire, with a pay range of $27.00–$32.00 per hour. Responsibilities include staff leadership, process improvements, audits, and ongoing coaching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Active pharmacy technician registration or licensure in the state of employment.
• National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB/ExCPT/NHA) as required or preferred by state regulations.
• Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Experience in high-volume retail, specialty, mail-order, hospital, compounding, or fulfillment environments.
• Demonstrated leadership, training or team coordination experience in pharmacy/healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of pharmacy technicians across assigned work areas to ensure efficient, accurate prescription processing.
• Assign resources and staffing based on prescription volume and service priorities.
• Conduct shift huddles to communicate goals, priorities, and safety updates.
• Monitor workflow and adjust staffing to meet turnaround commitments.
• Provide coaching, training, and real-time support to resolve issues.
