Job summary

Gilbert Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee daily pharmacy operations in Florida, ensuring SOPs, regulatory compliance, and supervision of pharmacists and technicians. The PIC will manage sterile and non-sterile compounding, monitor production goals, and maintain training and licensure records, while serving as the main contact for regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of compounding pharmacy experience; sterile compounding strongly preferred.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Florida (and additional states as required).

Responsibilities

• Oversee opening and closing activities and supervise staff pharmacists.
• Ensure SOPs and regulatory compliance across the facility and governing bodies.
• Directly supervise pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
• Serve as designated person for compounding operations.
• Ensure production goals are created, tracked, and met.
• Identify trends delaying batch production or causing cancellations.
• Write operational and production SOPs.
• Assist in documentation and completion of Adverse Drug Event forms.
• Answer clinical questions from health professionals and provide product information.
• Support order verification within the computer processing queue for accuracy.
• Review batch records and related documentation for accuracy.
• Maintain safe working environments and enforce operational discipline.
• Monitor KPIs to adjust staffing and processes for effectiveness.
• Oversee environmental monitoring, QA, and corrective action plans.
• Document training, competency, and licensure.
