Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to oversee daily pharmacy operations in California. The role requires clinical leadership, regulation compliance, and collaboration with physicians and staff to optimize patient therapy.

The PIC will supervise pharmacists, residents, interns, and technicians, ensuring safe dispensing, accurate labeling, and thorough medication information delivery to patients and care teams.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Pharmacy Practice residency or ambulatory care residency, or equivalent clinical experience.
• Pharmacist license (California) required.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Basic Life Support within 6 months of hire from AHA or ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assures compliance with all regulations as required by regulatory agencies in daily operation of the pharmacy.
• Provides direction to staff members including residents and technicians.
• Interviews patients to obtain information about drug use and allergies and documents it in the records.
• Reviews and interprets prescription orders and verifies labeling accuracy.
• Dispenses, compounds, procures, stores and distributes pharmaceuticals and products.
• Advises medical personnel and patients on drug therapy and safety considerations.
