Job summary

Lead Person – Shipping

Hours – Noon- 8pm (M-F)- Daily and/or weekend OT may be required

Responsibilities Include:

• Helps determine work procedures, work schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Coordinate logistics to lead the fast pace shipping department in meeting daily customer demands by fulfilling orders on time and providing outstanding service on shipping options for the customer.
• Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures.
• Adheres to all safety and work rules, company policies and procedures.
• This job requires the ability to operate independently with minimum supervision.
• Project management responsibilities include, but not limited to, warehouse space utilization, freight cost optimization, trailer utilization and driver and vendor delivery coordination.
• Helps communicate with warehouse personnel regarding order readiness.
• Works with other department staff members as required, such as customer service, sales, production, and accounting.
• Helps with process improvement and housekeeping.
• Able to operate wrapping equipment when necessary.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience in shipping environment.
• Requires a demonstrated commitment to safety, process improvement and housekeeping.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed and Overtime daily and/or Weekend.
• Must be able to sit, stoop, and bend.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
• Candidates must possess advanced computer skills, and be extremely proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a packaging warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
• Fully proficient in all facets of warehouse operations including shipping, receiving and system administration.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Starting salary for position: $28.00per hour.
• Bonus: Annual – Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
• Paid Vacation: 2weeks per calendar year. Pro-rata Vacation during the initial year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year.
