Job summary

Gusto is seeking a strategic Lead, Process Transformation to advance our People Operations ecosystem from hire to retire. You’ll partner across HR, Legal, Finance, and leaders to standardize and automate core workflows, and to design scalable experiences for employees, managers, and People teams.

You’ll oversee HRIS Operations and People Services, driving operational excellence, governance, and a customer-centric service model through Lean, automation, and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in People Operations or related fields.
• 5+ years leading managers and operational teams.
• Experience with enterprise-scale process transformation initiatives.
• Experience in HR shared services or HR operations.
• Strong understanding of HR technology ecosystems (Workday or comparable).
• Lean Six Sigma or BPM experience.
• Analytical skills and data-driven decisions.
• Ability to influence senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-year strategy for transforming People Operations processes.
• Analyze end-to-end employee lifecycle workflows to identify friction and inefficiencies.
• Redesign processes using Lean, service design, and automation principles.
• Partner with technical teams to apply tooling, AI and automation to improve efficiency.
• Develop business cases quantifying operational impact and ROI.
• Establish governance and dashboards to monitor KPIs and service levels.
