Job summary

Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC, is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner at the RCP-III level to administer advanced respiratory therapies across ER, NICU, PICU and other units.

Under the department manager, you will mentor staff, participate in our care ladder, and ensure quality outcomes for patients from neonates to adults.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in AMA approved Respiratory Care Program required (minimum)
• 2+ years in pediatric/neonatal critical care environment preferred
• RRT credential required
• DC DOH RCP license required
• BLS required
• PALS required

Responsibilities

• Administer general respiratory therapy procedures (humidity, aerosols, suction, CPAP/BiPAP, HFOT)
• Demonstrate advanced ventilator management skills including nitric oxide and HFOV
• Perform CPR as indicated
• Conduct invasive and noninvasive monitoring and diagnostics
• Work across ER, Acute Care, and PICU/NICU/CICU with rotation
• Serve as preceptor to new hires and students
