Job summary

Business Software, Inc. seeks a Lead – Product Research to lead payroll tax research initiatives and supervise a research team. The role coordinates with developers, support staff and tax authorities to prioritize requests and deliver analyses.

The candidate will guide daily activities and operate with minimal supervision, while ensuring accurate, timely research across federal, multi-state and local payroll tax requirements. Eligible states include GA, FL, NV, NC, and TX.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
• Other Undergraduate degree with minimum 5 years payroll and/or payroll tax reporting experience and 3+ years technical experience in product research and/or software product development
• Minimum 5 years of recent and relevant work experience (payroll tax/compliance research, federal, multi-state and multi-local payroll tax reporting and remittance)
• Proficient in SQL/database queries, Internet applications, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communications and organizational skills
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus
• Experience overseeing daily activities of Payroll Tax Administrators a plus
• This position is subject to a background check

The Lead – Product Research is responsible for the leadership and task assignment/review of assigned team members. It is also responsible for the analysis and prioritization of research requests and collaboration between diverse groups such as developers, support and taxing authority contacts. Operates with minimal supervision.
