Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Payroll Lead Contractor in Chicago, IL. You will own end-to-end multi-state payroll processing using Workday, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across multiple entities.

You will partner with HR and Finance, drive process improvements, support year-end activities, and mentor payroll staff. A CPP credential is preferred, and 5–8 years of progressive payroll experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of progressive payroll experience in a multi-entity environment.
• Deep expertise in multi-state payroll processing and wage/hour regulations.
• Workday Payroll experience strongly preferred.
• CPP designation preferred; FPC considered.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar GL systems is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to build payroll reports.
• Technology-forward mindset and excellent communicator.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute bi-weekly multi-state payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt employees across entities via Workday Payroll.
• Maintain data integrity with accurate data collection, auditing, and entry.
• Serve as escalation point for complex payroll issues and inquiries.
• Lead year-end processing including W-2, balancing, adjustments.
