Job summary

FormFactor, Inc. is seeking a Lead Payroll Specialist to manage accurate biweekly U.S. payroll for employees, predominantly remote with a Beaverton office day each two weeks. Role covers expatriate payroll, equity transactions, and regulatory compliance.

This position supports payroll compliance, reporting, equity compensation transactions, expatriate payroll administration, and employee payroll inquiries while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, company policies, and internal controls.Most work will be performed remotely; however, the expectation is that the specialist will be in the Beaverton office one day a week for two weeks out of the month.Key Responsibilities:Execute accurate biweekly payroll for all U.S. employees using ADP and UKG Pro, ensuring timely pay distribution and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.Process and maintain payroll transactions including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, commissions, deductions, garnishments, and leave-related payroll impacts.Assist in detailed pre- and post-payroll audits and reconcile payroll registers, timesheets, benefit deductions, tax withholdings and correct discrepancies.Collaborate with Human Resources, Benefits, Stock Administration, Finance, and Timekeeping teams to validate payroll data and ensure accurate employee records.Administer payroll-related activities for expatriate employees, including coordination of tax equalization, hypothetical tax deductions, shadow payroll requirements, and vendor-provided payroll adjustments.Assist in process and validate equity compensation transactions, including Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) events, ensuring proper taxation, withholding, reporting, and payroll integration.Support payroll tax compliance activities and assist with payroll audits, year-end processing, and regulatory reporting requirements.Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving pay discrepancies, tax withholding questions, garnishments, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.Maintain payroll procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), audit documentation, and process controls to ensure consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.Assist in payroll reports and provide payroll-related data and analysis to Finance, HR, and external auditors as requested.Assist with payroll system testing, upgrades, implementations, and special projects.JOB SKILLSTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of U.S. payroll processing practices and payroll compliance requirements.Experience administering payroll for expatriate employees, including coordination with external tax and payroll providers.Working knowledge of RSU and ESPP taxation, payroll withholding requirements, and reporting.Experience with ADP WFN payroll systems required.Experience with UKG Pro and/or UKG Workforce Management preferred.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting functions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving ability.Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, processes, and technologies.Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.Performance SkillsStrong interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to gain cooperation and effectively collaborate across departments.Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment within established authority limits.Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll and employee information.Willing and able to work overtime as necessary to meet payroll deadlines, year-end requirements, and special project commitments.Maintains high standards of professional, technical, and business conduct.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEMinimum of 2–5 years of payroll processing experience.Experience processing multi-state payroll required.ADP WFN payroll software experience required.UKG Pro experience preferred.Experience supporting expatriate payroll administration preferred.Experience processing or supporting RSU and ESPP payroll transactions preferred.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.Skills:ADP Workforce Now, Analytical Problem Solving, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Data Confidentiality, Data Privacy, Detail-Oriented, Microsoft Excel, Payroll Processing, Payroll Reconciliation, Payroll ReviewEducation & Experience:Minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience | RequiredPay Range:$21.90 - $28.77Pay Range Explained:This role in Portland, Oregon pays between $21.90 and $28.77 per hour, depending on your experience, skills, and background.
