Job summary
Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA seeks a Payload Flight Software Lead to steer the architecture, development, and verification of flight software for embedded systems. You will collaborate with Systems Engineering, Hardware, and I&T to define architecture, interfaces, and traceability matrices.
The ideal candidate will have a STEM degree with extensive experience in embedded C/C++, RTOS like VxWorks, and a proven software team leadership record; active SCI clearance is required at
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of relevant experience; or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Must have an active SCI access at the time of application.
- Experience leading a software team.
- Expert level proficiency in embedded C/C++ development.
- Experience with real-time operating systems like VxWorks.
- Experience with Agile software development and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, architecture, development, integration, test and verification of flight software for embedded systems.
- Define and maintain architectural artifacts and interfaces; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to program intent, data acquisition, and control strategies.
