Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL is seeking a Lead Transporter to supervise the Transport Team and ensure safe, efficient patient movement throughout the hospital. You will oversee transporting patients, specimens, and equipment while mentoring new staff and coordinating with clinical teams.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of related experience preferred, and current BLS.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current BLS through the American Heart Association is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a resource to the Transport Team, fostering teamwork.
  • Transport patients and belongings to/from clinical, ancillary and support areas.
  • Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients between beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Greet and assist customers throughout the hospital.
  • Collect and deliver specimens, orders, requisitions and equipment to destinations.
  • Orient and mentor new staff members.
  • May be called to schedule for the team.

Job Summary And Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

We are looking for a Lead Transporter. As our Lead Transporter, you will be responsible for shift supervision and promoting a safe and efficient movement of all patients throughout the hospital. You and your team of Transporters will be greeting and transporting patients to and from all major ancillary departments using proper safety techniques and mode of transportation. Job tasks and responsibilities may include:
  • You will act as a resource to the Transport Team, fostering a culture of teamwork.
  • You and your team will transport patients and their belongings to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas as requested.
  • You will assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • You will greet and assist customers throughout the hospital.
  • You will collect and deliver specimens, orders, requisitions and equipment to appropriate destinations.
  • You will orient and mentor new staff members.
  • You may even be called to do scheduling for your team.
Job qualifications include:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of related experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • enrolled in healthcare courses preferred
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Current BLS through the American Heart Association is required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
