Job summary

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Lead Patient Care Technician to join our nursing team in Fort Walton Beach, FL. You will deliver hands-on patient care, assist with advanced procedures, and help mentor and support growth of staff.

You will guide a team, ensure timely care, and maintain a safe environment while following infection prevention practices. A 6-month experience requirement and BLS within 30 days are noted as qualifications.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with ADLs, mobility support, vital signs, specimen collection and telemetry monitoring as needed
• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating updates to nursing staff
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment by infection prevention and equipment care
• Responding to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication
• Training new team members and sharing updates on policies and quality initiatives

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Lead Patient Care Tech, you’ll be an integral part of the nursing team, delivering compassionate care that impacts patients’ lives every day. You’ll provide hands‑on patient care, assist with advanced procedures, and help guide and mentor and support the growth of new and experienced patient care tech staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), supporting mobility and comfort, checking vital signs, collecting specimens, preparing for procedures, and monitoring telemetry as needed
• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating important updates to the nursing team to ensure coordinated, timely care
• Helping maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices, setting up and caring for equipment, and ensuring needed supplies are ready
• Responding to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication to promote comfort and trust
• Training new team members, sharing updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care

What qualifications you will need:
