Job summary

HCA Florida Capital Hospital is seeking a Lead Patient Care Technician to join our nursing team. The role delivers hands-on patient care, assists with procedures, and mentors staff to support growth of both new and experienced team members.

The position requires Basic Life Support within 30 days of start date and at least 1 year of experience. You will participate in rounding, documentation, infection prevention, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• 1 year experience required.
• Ability to assist with ADLs and monitor telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with ADLs, mobility and comfort, checking vital signs, collecting specimens and monitoring telemetry.
• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating updates to the nursing team.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices and ensuring supplies are ready.
• Respond to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication.
• Train new team members and share updates on policies and quality initiatives.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Lead Patient Care Tech, you’ll be an integral part of the nursing team, delivering compassionate care that impacts patients’ lives every day. You’ll provide hands‑on patient care, assist with advanced procedures, and help guide and mentor and support the growth of new and experienced patient care tech staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), supporting mobility and comfort, checking vital signs, collecting specimens, preparing for procedures, and monitoring telemetry as needed

• Documenting patient care accurately and communicating important updates to the nursing team to ensure coordinated, timely care

• Helping maintain a safe, clean environment by following infection prevention practices, setting up and caring for equipment, and ensuring needed supplies are ready

• Responding to patient needs through regular rounding and compassionate communication to promote comfort and trust

• Training new team members, sharing updates on policies and quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
