Job summary

FootBridge seeks an experienced Passive House professional to own verification, testing, and performance analyses for multifamily and high-performance buildings. You will lead PHIUS certification efforts and support ENERGY STAR and Zero Energy Ready Home programs.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to optimize building performance, conduct on-site testing, and guide projects through certification processes, leveraging field testing equipment and energy modeling

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a PHIUS Verifier, including multifamily projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building science and high-performance enclosure systems.
  • Experience supporting ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS, and Zero Energy Ready Home programs.
  • Hands-on field testing and diagnostic equipment experience.
  • Familiar with energy modeling software such as EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, eQuest, WUFI, and THERM.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Passive House verification for multifamily and residential projects (PHIUS certification and HERS ratings).
  • Manage and support projects pursuing ENERGY STAR Multifamily, Indoor airPLUS, and ZERH certifications.
  • Perform enclosure, MEP, and lighting take-offs to support energy analysis.
  • Conduct on-site inspections, diagnostic testing, and commissioning (blower door, duct leakage, ventilation).
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, engineers, and contractors to optimize performance and certifications.
  • Perform energy analysis, benchmarking, and modeling to evaluate building systems.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout design and construction phases.

Join a highly collaborative team focused on advancing sustainable, high-performance buildings across multifamily and residential construction. This is an opportunity for an experienced Passive House professional who wants to take ownership of impactful projects, work alongside industry experts, and help shape the future of energy-efficient building design and construction.

In this role, you’ll lead verification, testing, and performance analysis efforts for multifamily and high-performance building projects pursuing some of the industry’s most recognized sustainability certifications.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead Passive House verification efforts for multifamily and residential projects, including PHIUS certification and HERS ratings.
  • Manage and support projects pursuing ENERGY STAR Multifamily New Construction, Indoor airPLUS, and Zero Energy Ready Home certifications.
  • Perform enclosure, MEP, and lighting take-offs to support energy analysis and project compliance.
  • Conduct on-site inspections, diagnostic testing, and commissioning activities, including blower door, duct leakage, and ventilation testing.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, developers, engineers, and contractors to optimize building performance and ensure successful certification outcomes.
  • Perform energy analysis, benchmarking, and modeling to evaluate building systems and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance and practical solutions throughout design and construction phases.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Certified Passive House Verifier (PHIUS), including multifamily project experience.
  • Strong knowledge of building science, high-performance enclosure systems, HVAC systems, and energy-efficient construction practices.
  • Experience supporting ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS, and Zero Energy Ready Home certification programs.
  • Hands-on experience with field testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling and analysis software such as eQuest, EnergyPlus, OpenStudio, WUFI, and THERM.
