The Chief LEO oversees investigations, court cases, and enforcement of federal law within the park, coordinating with the U.S. Attorney's Office and Regional Solicitor.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must pass E-Verify.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must pass drug testing and fitness standards.
  • Uniform wear and uniform allowance provided.
  • Must obtain and maintain government charge card for travel.
  • Firearm qualification and certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Chief Law Enforcement Officer for Boston NHP.
  • Oversee law enforcement, visitor safety, EMS, and visitor protection services.
  • Enforce federal laws within the park’s jurisdiction; coordinate with U.S. Attorney’s Office.
  • Administer the park's law enforcement program, investigations and court proceedings; assist with prosecutions and sentencing.
  • Develop park policy in areas of law enforcement, security, anti-terrorism, and safety; advise management and regional office.
